Happy New Year!

Its been decided..my word for this bright new shiny year is LIBERATION!

Oooh a big word for sure but it's a BIG year..and has already begun!
I'm leaving my work in a few weeks....as in no longer being employed...no more midwiferying!
Wow..The end of an incredible era, amazing experiences and blessed moments.

The time has come though...heart strong urges and untravelled roads are a calling!
It's a leap alright... pretty MAMMOTH. Choosing the unknown instead of security(and regular income!)...inviting the opportunity to fall flat on my face and fail catastrophically!

But despite the risks, nothing else will do...I want my life to be BIGGER, fuller...with love and creativity, adventure and trust.
And holy guacamole/jimminy minoculars! If I can do this who knows what else is possible!! :)

So LIBERATION it is....
Liberation from the limiting beliefs and doubts...say nay to the negative thoughts and YAY! to the life affirming ones.

Liberation from the time constraints that have kept me away from my most cherished creations :)

And more frivolously but equally as important!
Liberation to the nails that have never been painted because I had to work the next day.

The fabric that never made it to skirts because I didn't want to unnerve expectant parents to be!

Liberation to the olympian athlete that is desperately trying to get out :)

I can't tell you how excited I feel..and how HUGE my horizon now feels, open to possibilities far and wide!

So what's your word for the year?
I hope its inviting you to be the BIGGEST and BEST that you can be!!

Ps. fancy joining me in a star jumpin' mexican wave?? hehe! :)x

  4. You are awesome! This is sure to be a great year! My word doesn't sound as powerful as liberation, but I chose CREATE...more art, more ideas, more time, more love to share, and especially create a more beautiful world for all. Wishing you shining success in all your endeavors, and so wonderful that you were a midwife (I used midwives for both births and had an easy HBAC:)

My word I think is "Potential" and fulfilling it this year making my art pay enough to make my life more comfortable. Can't wait to see where your liberation takes you..:)

  15. Wow, Jenny, that is amazing news!! As a nurse I know what you mean about having to be restrained and not being able to wear nail varnish etc. My excitement is doing flip overs for you... it is indeed a big risk to give up a secure job and to venture into the unknown, but I admire your spirit and hope it gives you everything you want.
I too have whisperings, telling me to do the same. Right now I need to plan my direction and think about where I want to be, but I want to join you in the star jumps one day. Meanwhile, go Jenny, go !!!

  17. I am star jumping and mexican waving my toosh off for you! Fantastic news. Go girl :) I have every confidence that it will be the best decision. So excited for you. Just read this quote today which is so apt for you "I decide to make the rest of my life the best of my life". Back to jumping and waving...

  18. If I was physically able to star jump I would surely join you in your star jumpin' mexican wave because this post makes me feel so happy for you!! :-) Oh what the hell, that's what my imagination is for...yeah I'm star jumping like crazy. :-))

Bad me had never picked up you were a midwife. I've just started watching the new midwifes drama set in the 1950s that started last Sunday. It was great and your nail varnish comment reminded me of one of the character midwifes saying one day she would paint her nails but for now there was work for her to do.

It is wonderful to read how happy & positive you are! Your post helps me feel happier and positive too - so thanks for that sweetie!

    Here's to a fabulous 2012!
    Hugs
    Kat Xx
