Frills and fins

Here's the finished fishie book as promised! Frills seemed the most natural thing to compliment those fins! AMAZING!
I'm going for lots of photos to make up for little words!
...am in the middle of a busy working week!

"see further than the goldfish bowl"....

  9. This is beautiful! Love all the frills! Thinking about frills and fins and gills makes me think of a project I did with a friend of mine in high school. We made a display board about a public aquarium for a history fair (calling it Gills and Thrills) and spent hours cutting out waves for our background. Not quite as fun as pretty blue frills, though.

    Your text reminds me of being a little girl - I had a pet goldfish in my bedroom and I felt really bad that he only had a view of my room. So one day I scooped him up by his tail and held him up to my bedroom window so he could see the world beyond my room. I thought his wiggling was excitement (I was very little and didn't know he couldn't live outside his bowl). I put him back in his bowl and left for a little while... Unfortunately I bet you can guess what I found when I returned. I was very, very sad.

    It's funny what memories different works of art can conjure up...
