I wanted to share with you some stunning sewn works of art which inspire me no end to get my needle and thread out....
The images below are by a mind bogglingly talented Lauren DiCioccio...
Lauren has embroidered images from the New York Times, in homage to the ritual of newspaper reading, which she writes is "becoming a nostalgic and old fashioned art".
She also reconstructs the "delicate ghost" of mass produced plastic bottles with "tediously worked" organza fabric....
She has a host of different notes of currency (front AND back) that she has meticulously sewn too.....the detail is just PHENOMENAL!
So I shall leave you agape and in a state of wonderment .....
Tempted to get your needle and threads out???!
:)x
I like your blog!...Daniel

p.s. One of these days I might muster enough courage to give sewing (other than button repair) a try! If anyone can inspire me to do it, you can.
