Creative Tuesday - New Year

I thought the Creative Tuesday challenge was for next week! I know...not like me to do 2 posts in a row...but I so didn't want to miss this! Apologies for the quick sketch using kiddies pencils and the one black pen I can find..I hope it gets my message across!

So this week's theme is New Year and what instantly comes to mind for me is the linking of the arms to sing "Auld Lang Syne".
I think this has to be one of the best parts of New Year for me, as its one of the few times in our lives when the barriers are down and we actually hold out our hands to random strangers and link with them to sing at the top of our lungs.
We are one.
A precious moment and should happen more often I reckon :)

Go and see more lovely New Year inspired artwork here.

I like the sentiment and you're spot on. PS did you find the pen in the oven glove ?!

  5. It is a great way to start the new year (and I agree that we should try to hold on to that feeling the whole year through).

p.s. Love your celebration of the small things... I can totally relate to celebrating the finding of keys - although it's my "grown-up" hubby who is in the habit of placing them in the most curious places! (On top of the refrigerator... seriously?!? ha!)

  15. I could have spent a hundred hours with the best art materials and still not drawn as well!! Lol. I am very envious of your skill.

I agree - it is nice to have moments when we all let down the barriers and connect as human beings.

  17. in credible sketch adn hands there too. wow. Jenny you are amazing. Yes, I love tht trtadtion--BUt they don;t really do it her ein the Us. Matter of fact the few times I've had people over on NYE they think it rather bizarre to sing that song most don;t know, let alone hold hands. ha. I so miss that. This is a great interpretation for New Year too. Oh, you are so clever.

  18. Happy New Year, Jen - you are so clever! Glad you found the keys and I just love this sketch. I try every year to start Auld Lang Syne but no one is very interested which is a little sad :-(

Very important message in those lyrics which as others have said we should all try to observe year round.....
