Birdie plates!

I'll quickly swing past the fact I haven't been around for a few weeks (it's been October school break) and still haven't got xmas cards to show (printers getting something fixed)... and jump straight into talking plates! I've had a growing collection of miss-matched plates for some time now, some vintage, others just in need of rescuing from the local thrift shop and given some love. The plan was to add my own designs either using decals or ceramic pen/paints.
As with most intended projects, the plates have gathered dust  (hangs head in suitable shame!)...but I did paint some little designs over the summer hols with plates in mind ,which I thought I would share.

This has a painted background and digital coloured bird in the foreground. Experimenting again! It's called "The great escape"
I've mocked it up roughly on a plate below........too nice to eat off of I think!

This second design is entirely paint and aimed entirely to make the eyes zing! It's called "morning glory".

Below is another quick mock up.......

Loving the colours against the porcelain! And feeling suitable inspired to dusting off that neglected crockery! x

Ta daaaaaa.... !

Finally I have something to show you!.....the  project I've been working on is now in completion!...a wee range of stitched cards and limited edition prints...yippee!

I started creating these stitched designs almost a year ago, squeezing them in between the other projects (and life!) that was going on..and I'm feeling pretty proud of my little creations....its been like having children all over again :)

They'll be coming with me to the Glasgow Trade Fair this weekend, which I'll be exhibiting at...I'm in the throes of last minute organisation  as I type!
These birdie ones are a little different from my usual stitching but they are my favourites for sure.....so happy with how the cards and prints capture the exact textures and depths. You could easily mistake them for the original, the prints especially. The temptation to touch is high!

Some familiar faces you have seen before too....
Thought  I'd better make atleast one "gentlemanly" one!

Good old gloria.....I do love a cheeky budgie, and a pink one at that!

I wanted to include a little bit of wordage too.....

Aah, feels so great to have shared and released these out into the world! Thankyou so much for looking :)x

Recent makes!

I love this squirrel... "Little sushine" is what I called him..he ended up in The Found Gallery along with the mounted pieces below...

"Song Bird"

"Un-impressed!"

"Call of the Wild"....seemed so fitting to have made this then went to see "Sky Fall" ...homage to 007..swoon :)

I apologise if you're a visitor of my facebook page as you'll have seen these all before! I've been very busy with projects and exciting new ventures..but alas none of which I can share right now.
I can however share that I'm off to the very grand (and recently rennovated) Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh this weekend with my creations...must remember to bring my camera this time as this place is STUNNING! Can't wait!
Hope all is wonderful where ever you are xx

Custom Made

Little princess
I've been having such a lovely time creating some commissioned pieces recently. Facebook has been an incredible discovery in people stumbling upon my work and "liking" it. Don't I sound like such a BOF?! (Boring Old Fart for those unfamiliar with the term!)
..but honestly I have resisted Facebook for so long and when I finally "get with it"...well I'm wishing I had done a WHOLE lot sooner :)

 a commissioned fathers day gift..bless!

So I'm currently feeling very much in the flow and ease of creating..life is feeling  good right now.

There's one little discord however....while speaking about "shoulds" a few posts ago I have to admit that writing blog posts is one of them...and I want to shake it up a little and get me out of bloggy lethargy! So if you will bear (bare?..having brain freeze!) with me...(get nekkid if you like) I'll be back with a few changes and a bit more intention!

Hope all is good in the hood with you xx
