Wow, here we are in March already...who'd have thunk it?! Its only now that I realise just how dark and dreary the wintery days have been when the first few rays of sun make me want to prance and sing like a character from Walt Disney :) Tralalalalalaa!!!
A family outing over the weekend has taken us on our second picnic of the year, this one being a bit more successful as we got to sit on the picnic rug rather than wrap ourselves up in it!
I can't wait for those warmer days, light evenings and the sudden burst of blooms and colour.
Anyhoos, I digress!
Todays piece I created for Mr Toast's "bedtime" theme...
I used to always be such a "night owl"....it was my favourite time of day... where I usually created while watching the late night film, enjoying the thought that everyone slept while I pottered away. Two daughters later and countless night shifts at work have put that little birdie to rest....so this is my wee homage to the "hoolit"
Come along with me and see all the other bedtime inspired creations here. x
I love this owl :)

ReplyDeleteI have s been a night owl but am finding I'm getting less and less. Anyway, this is an amazing illustration. TY for doing it and joining in again, Jenny. It's going to be fun in the montage later tonight
ReplyDeletehi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed you managed to go for a picnic... I was in Leeds this weekend and brass monkey weather. I even bought a deer stalker hat my little ears were so cold. Love Hoolit.. just gorgeous...
This is amazing, so clever. I love the way you've used the various patterns and colours. You inspire me to create more & better!!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a night owl just like you. Now with illness & children this isn't always possible. But even still, when I do stop up I too love the idea of being up creating whilst everyone else sleeps. There's something special about those quiet hours when the world outside has eased its faffing and anxiety ridden 'doing'. Its like I've stolen a few special hours for myself to breathe and be without anyone actually expecting anything from me.
Wow - that night owl thing really got me rabbiting on. LOL.

I love your owl, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you're picnicking! We still have snow over everything here, but I know that spring isn't too far off.
Such a hooooot! I love this owl! You have an amazing imagination! Hugs, Sam
ReplyDeleteHOW on Earth did I miss this???? This owl is perfect !.... I am a night owl and my eyes look like that after a night of PaperPlay....
ReplyDeleteIf you don't send it to me right this minute I am so gonna copy the idea and make one for myself ! Of course it won't look as good as this one.
just kidding....you really don't have to send it.
