Snowing, sewing and sledging! AEDM #25-27

There has been a flurry of the first winter snow and of course a quick sell out of sledges in the local shop! We live just around the corner from the perfect hill to sledge down...not too high to climb up but steep enough to go fast and the added thrill of several trees to wind around and a stream at the bottom!! :)

The sleigh train! Skye, Maia and her two friends...at the top....

.....and at the bottom!! :) I'm amazed I got a clear photo as I was laughing hard at this point!!! I suppose a tree is more welcome than the soggy landing of the stream! Haha!

What fun!
And so the other reason I have been VERY scant on the entries to Art Every Day is that I have been frantically sewing a blanket/quilt for my wee niece Niamh.

Day 1 on the Big flowery blanket.

I would like to say I have enjoyed making it but the deadline of having to make it for next week, so I can give it on our visit, took most of the fun out. But little nieces that live way up North in the icy climes are precious and need extra warmth. :)

Day 2 on the big flowery blanket!

Day 3! An Yayyyyyy...I've pretty much finished!

Glamorous model to the rescue :)
Lots more creative every day people here doing a better job than me! x

  2. Hi Jenny. That quilt is so nice an cozy looking. Thanks for stopping by. In regards to the gift making.... at first I was loving it (started early), then I was stressed and didn't want to do it, and now I am to the point that I am almost done, won't do all I was planning to do and that is o.k. with me. In less then a month it is all over anyway.
Love your art. So colorful and happy.
    warmly,

  3. I can't believe they hit a tree! That's awesome. They really got under there didn't they? I used to have a tree like that at one of the houses I lived in when I was a kid, the best part is there's a lot of space between where the branches lay and where the trunk is!

Your quilt! Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you posted about it so I could have a peek. Love it! The colours are brilliant and the design is so fun. How is your niece not going to fall totally in love with that?!

  4. Ooh, you got proper snow. We just had an icing sugar dusting; certainly not enough for sledging. Looked like you had such fun!!

Your quilt looks so cosy and snug.

  7. I love how beautifully your drawing style translates to quilting. The colors are divine. Sledding looks like sooooo much fun and brings back fond memories of my youth. Happy Sunday and thanks for the lovely 'vote' on my blog. Blue background is coming out the winner so far.
